TRIED to rebuild my motor....oops

well sunda i tried to rebuild my motor i read the manual and started takin it apart, well had the cylinder bored .040 and bought a new pistion, well it was my first time working on a motor and i atleast say that i wanted to try it. well got it back togerther lastnight and oops, it fired once and it banged rattled knocked and pinged, well needless to say i took it into the local shop, ha at least i tried, like ill ever do that again, :huh :rolleyes:

Well I can tell you t hat you made a mistake here lol.. You have to have the cylinder bored to the size of the piston you are using + clearance. But it doesnt sound like that's your problem. Incorrect cam timing or no valve clearance.

Not something someone should do if they don't know what they are doing.

i bet ya you had the cam gear off 180º. so the valves go down as the piston come up..........ouch:eek2:
