I was talking to my motor builder today about clutches ( I think mine is starting to get a lil weak). He siad he saw some about a company making slipper clutches like they use on top fuel dragsters and nascars and such. Anyone have info on them?

so what its saying is that you can lock the rear wheels up with the brake, and the clutch will automatically slipp and keep you from stalling it out.

Yeah, also when you take off it will slip a lil bit to let you hook up but you can adjust it to come on at a certain rpm it will lock all the way.

sounds expensive. but id love to know how it works, and see the proof on someones times.

No its still a manual, but it has some advantages of automatic. Still need your clutch to take off and up shift.

I don't think that i'm going to buy one if they come out. It just screams slow to me. It might be alright for dirtbikes, becuz they could use the slow down to get traction.

they use them on high power streetbikes and twins.

prevents engine braking
and with the use of the rear brake prevents stalling

i was thinking it was something like the rev-lock or whatever those auto clutch conversions are.... maybe this thing would be good for certain tracks that get blue grooved real bad, but i think itd be a waste of money for me...

I talked to ls at gt thunder today. He said they probly wouldn't work well in the 400ex application beacuse the clutch is to small and they would probly burn up disks, not to mention they sell for anywhere between $300-$800.
