250r engine..someone please answer

bought a 250r engine off of this guy from a different website...after further inspection i look at the back center part of the engine right about where the swingarm is..i noticed about 8 to 10 welds horizontally about 3 to four inches width..what does this mean..cracked case??????please answer asap..thanks..joe

Well they didn't come that way from Honda so I think you could safely assume it's been broke and repaired.....

Is it where the pivot bolt goes ??? Either way its been cracked/broken somewhere along the lines. I wouldnt be too worried.

but it seems to be leaking...yes it right next to the pivot bolt...practcially right behind it???
