My Z just broke for the last time yesterday adn this has rushed my EX back together so I can race this weekend. My problem is, it hasn't been running in 3 or 4 months. It now turns over, but only when I have the charger on it, adn it only turns over really slowly. As soon as you take the charger off it has no power to anything at all. The battery was only a month old when I took it apart last. It's killing me here, any help would be great. Thanks

definately a bad battery, if it is only a few months old you should be able to take it back and get it replaced. good luck in your race this weekend!

I put my Z battery on and it does the same thing. Then I put a 300ex battery on it adn it does thesame thing, it turns over way to slow to even attempt a start. I'm out of idea's. I traced all the wires, and everything seems to be in good order.

un-hook your ground wire from the frame and sand or scrape it too bare metal, you don't have a good ground

Save your powdercoat job and some time. Just run a new ground wire from the negative battery terminal to the starter motor mounts on the engine. That way there is no way your ground can fail. :macho

One more thing, doing it this way also eliminates the possibility of a ground problem between the subframe and the main frame.

Thanks a lot guys, it was the ground. When I put it together I didn't scrape the powdercoat off. Thanks again.
