I recently had an unfortunate ring seizure on my 416. I am in the process of going to the 426. I am currently waiting for a 88mm gasket from Cometic (yes they make 87 and 88, no they are not on their website). I am faced with the dilemma of whether to stroke this or not. Powroll makes a 4mm stroker with HD rod. Anyone use this kit? Anyone hear any pros or cons to this? My gasket is 2 weeks out and the stroker kit is probably 2.5 weeks. at this point, whats another 3 days. Thanks in advance for any helpful insight.

Well to stroke the motor you have to pull the crank out and have it turned which is expensive to have done. The 426 piston will give you the power you need. Thatis what I have and it rips. Beating some 440's. If I were you just stick with the 426

I think I would stick to the 426 also less expensive. As for the gasket you should have called we stock the steel flex gasket kits;)

I realize that it is labor intensive and costs more money(about $500.00). What I'm wondering is if anyone has done this mod with positive or negative results. One positive will be the HD rod that will be installed.

get in contact with 465stroker on the site. He knows his way around the engine from what I hear, and he obviously has a stroker kit in it.

if your looking for a good power increase then stroke it... if you were happy with your 416 then i would just leave it.... stroking can get very expensive.... unless you plan on tearing down the engine yourself and pulling the crank out and sending it to powroll expect about 4-5 weeks they told me 2 weeks turn around and it came out to be about 6 weeks later when i finally got mine.. but worth the wait
