GoodBye Dial Up, Hello Cable

Well i finally broke down and got rid of Dial up with AOL and now have Cable internet . Sucks that I wont be able to go on the internet until the 7th of October but ah well it'll be worth it when Im back . So for anyone that emails me , dont use the Quad18star@aol.com , use GregLarocque644@hotmail.com . This will become my main Email Addy . For the time being I'll only be able to access the net from the college. See you in a few weeks. LAtaz

FYI: Don't uninstall or delete AOL from your computer, it will never act the same if you do. Be prepared to always budget HS. internet from here on out because once you go fast you'll never wanna go back to dial-up.

I just switch about a month ago... I'll never go back. Not sure how I could go from using my clients T1 lines, then go home and use dial up. :confused: My cable is faster than my clients T1 line... all the time too. I have not noticed any "slow times" of the day...

I heard comcast (cable guys around us) are going to be doubleing there download speeds very shortly. Supposably by the end of the year.

So you may get even faster.

Thats sweet I had cable when I lived in Springfield but now I'm in Republic Back on Dial up now. GOD IT SUCKS A**!!!!:grr: :grr: :cuss:

Cable owns. I can't stand dialup. Comcast owns too. Except they go down often. I used over 300GB of bandwith last month and they didnt even complain. :D

SH|T 3MBIT. how much do you pay. i pay 60 and only get 1.5 i have the highest line offered around here. stupid charter.

Well i clicked a driffent part on the site and her's what it told me your connection loaded 322,649 bytes in 3.4 seconds your through put is 759 kbps.Whatever that means can some one tell me if that is good or not?

thats about 100kb a second....if im dling form a good server i can get about 450-500....you might wanna try the test again

Comcast around here (Pittsburgh) sells their cable internet at 1.5mbit download / 256 kb upload for $43 a month. When I do my speed test and download things from good servers, I get double their claimed speed. :D :D :D
