it probably uses asp or php or sql or something.. then again you can create an image and have html inside it. you can easily you microsoft front page to do this. they are called image maps i do believe. you can make a image of a 400ex and make it so that when you click on the tires of the quad it takes you to tires section and when you click on plastics it takes you to the plastic section. if youd like a demo, im sure i could make one up tonight or tommorow for ya. :)

Cool, I'm not very familiar with HTML and did not know you could embed it into a graphic's file.

It takes special server side software to generate an image on the fly like that.

There are ways to do it thru cgi & asp components and I'm sure other packages exist as well. This one appears to be done with a php script (the same scripting language this messageboard is written with).

SQL is short for Structured Query Language - it is not used to generate images, it's used to query databases like the one this forum uses.

Basically what's happening here is the image creater's webserver is reading the headers your browser is sending when it requests the image from his webpage, then that info is fed to a script that generates an image with the text embedded into it and displays it on your screen.

I've written similar code for automatically generating image thumbnails for picture pages and it's cool stuff.

We've all seen similar things done for years and not realized it. The counter images you see on many websites are generated in the same way - this guy is just taking header info and generating an image with that info embedded which catches people off-guard.
