I finally got my 400 to stop smoking. I had a JE 416 piston and cam installed. Upon starting it up; it blew smoke until it warmed up. I took it back to the shop and the oil rings on the piston were 'loose'; not sealing off the oil. The mechanic 'spread' them out to seal the cylinder better and everything is fine now! Just wanted to let ya'll know if you have a similiar problem.
