Im defently going to do it on my cylender, but what about my cases, like Bill Ballance's bike the cases have a cast-iron look. If i take the pain off will it look ok? Has anyone did this, or should I leave the black on, its scratched pretty bad and dont look too good...:ermm:

If you have an aftermarket cylinder, why is it black?? I don't think ive ever heard of company's that made black pro-x cylinders??

I do sandblasting, but I don't think that will give you the look you are wanting. I think what you want can be achived through bead blasting. That gives a smother satin like finish. It looks real good.

I have seen black cylinders before. Cylinders and cases can be powdercoated and it seems to stand up well.

The guy who had this engine before me spray painted it. I would have it power Coated, but Im outa money, and couldnt afford any more, Ill leave the cases black I guess and take the black off my cylinder...

Just get some aircraft stripper. Or sand it off, but that would take a while.

Yeah, if it is just spray paint, aircraft stripper will take that off so fast. I used aircraft stripper to strip the black paint off of my brake covers, and rezzy. Just get a wire brush ( not hard enough to scratch the metal) and scrub it off.

you can get aircraft stripper at most larger auto parts stores, or an auto body store, at the auto stores just look around for it in the body repair section. i've used it on my show truck to strip old paint, and if you follow directions it works great.

The aerosol aircraft stripper works great! Just be patient because it might take more than 1 application. Let it sit on there for a while so the stripper does the work for you.
