Honda 400EX, w/ LRD 460 kit, quad for sale. It comes with the following:

How much for just motor? Did you run a stock oil cooler?

Mike wants to make sure the engine goes first. As long as he sells the engine, he will piece it out.

if you want the engine, here's what it comes with for $4,500.

Engine, carb, pipe & rev box

If you want just the engine, it's $4,000.

The motor only has about 8 hours on it since it was freshened up. The motor pushes out a little more than 50 HP.

He runs a stock oil cooler with the engine.

Yeah, seriously, let's not forget you can get a new honda 450 motor for $3.600.00 which would have more potential as I noticed last night as two guys with these motors walked away from everyone on the track.

You're entitled to your own opinions... however, I don't think you realize what comes in this engine. I called LRD & they faxed me a list of everything they do to this engine... it would be $4856 with YOUR OWN engine sent to them. In addition to that the list below, there is also a HINSON Quick Release Clutch Cover, HINSON Billet inner hub. Now, that brings the total up at least another $800.

This obviously is NOT A TRAIL RIDER engine. A SERIOUS racer will know that this motor is completely worth this amount. It is NOT a bolt-on IMS 440 kit which only costs a couple hundred dollars, it is a SERIOUS RACE ENGINE.

Besides the HINSON stuff above, here's a list of what's in this engine & what the price costs from LRD... keep in mind that this all was ADDED to the engine Mike sent LRD.

Mike is willing to come down to $3500 FIRM for the engine without the pipe. Add $200 if you want the pipe too. PM if you're interested.

So, as you can see..... if you did this yourself, including the HINSON items added to the engine, it would cost you over $5200 w/o pipe or $5635 with a pipe, to buy everything he's selling for $3500 (w/o pipe) + you would have to add the cost of the original engine. And, don't forget, there are NEW centercases & bearings in this engine as well.

The last 3 motors our business sold like this, the customer sold their stock motors for between $1500-2200 & put that money towards one of these complete engines at the above cost.

yea man...i got over 2k in my 400ex engine..and if i tried to sell it i would get about 1200 for it..if i was lucky...and you can get 1000 for a stock motor...no matter how much money you put into something...your NEVER going to get that much back out of it

We just sold his LRD 440EX engine for $3300.... so I guess we can get it. People just have to know what it's worth, and if you know Mike, you know it's been kept in excellent condition.
