comparing a XR250 to a yz250f is like comparing a blaster to a banshee they are not in the same league the xr is a trail bike the yz was built as a 125 motocrosser now the rmz250 isnt that the new one they just introduced? if so its a motocrosser also

Most of the dirt bike mags say that all the 250 4-stroke MX'ers feel pretty close in power, but until they do a full blown shoot out, they won't really compare the bikes to much yet. They say the RMZ250 and the KXF250 (almost the same bike) have a mild powerband that is really easy to ride while the CRF250 feels like it would work better for aggressive riders. They say the YZF is a little more in between.

Again, that is just a comparison by memory for those guys... they never got a chance to ride the bikes back to back since they aren't even all out yet, but either way, they are all very close, and VERY good bikes. I think when I buy another bike for the 05 season, I might just stick w/ Yamaha simply because they are the tallest of the 4 bikes and I'm about 6'3" so it probably fits me best. Although I really don't have any idea since I would want to try them all out first. Either way, they are all VERY competative bikes that you can't go wrong with. They shouldn't be burning oil either, but I do change my oil after every 3rd ride. These are high strung bikes that run at 12,000 RPM's, so it's a must to change the oil often and CLEAN THE AIR FILTER AFTER EVERY RIDE!!!!!!!!!! It'll make your bike last longer, and those 2 things are the 2 most important things to do, maintanance wise.

I would go w/ a CRF250X before I did a XR. That 250X is the enduro version of the CRF250 right? If so, you should definitely go w/ that one over the XR. I thought you just got that bike though? You already wanting something new?

it depends on wat u wanna do with it they honda crf 150 is not really a mx bike ive ridin one on the track the suspsension is horrible and it is a slug, the xr250 .....i have also ridin these on the track and they are about the same, they are heavy and the suspension bottoms alot, but the yz250f, and kx250f.... these are full out mx bikes very fast, very very torquie, and the suspension is very good, but they do cost alot more so it all depends on wat you are goin to be doin with it, if you wanna spend the extra cash, and yes i have ridin both the yz250f, and kx250f, ,i perfer the yamaha if i was forced to ride a 4 banger:D

Get a wr 250f, or wait and see what honda's is like. I have a wr 426, it's reliable and very very fast (after minor mods). Just keep the oil changed and it will last.:)

KXRider - I didn't think the KXF250's were out already? I thought it was gonna be in November. Was the seat hieght on the KXF noticeably lower? I'm not buying another bike until the 05 season but when I do, I wanna check all of the bikes out. I've already said all this before, but I don't really want to buy anything smaller than the YZF cause I"m 6'3". You think the KXF/RMZ would make me feel cramped?

I guess I should wait till I can check one out myself and find out.
