what to do?

ok...i just got back from picking up a complete rolling chassis for red. i have to throw a new engine in it.....and i only really have like 2 days to do this----->

1) just install the new engine and get him riding for hatfield

2) bust my hump....tear down the quad....pc a frame and sub i have here tomarrow and re assemble it so its done and over with

he isnt online so maybe we can help me decide before he TELLS me what to do:p

i can have the old engine out and new one back in it and running in an hour or so. to tear down and re-assemble will take 6 hours not counting the pc work.


what would you do for a buddy:confused:

I'd say have him come over with a suit case and tear into it. Get it done the first time, it's alot of work but alot better than doing work 2 times.

do it the right way the first time, if you have that much time. So i guess teari t down and pc it all :D

if i lived by you papay i would stay up 24/7 and help you rebuild, as Glow Plug said do it right the first time.

Pappy if you have time then do the complete tear down, Red would be super thankful to you. If you don't have time (there are only a few days till the trip) put it together like it is and then let him tear it down later (the experience of tearing the bike down would be beneficial to him).
I would say just put it together and let him ride it at H/M. I think tearing it down right now might bring more trouble than could be remedied before Thursday.

well i figured tearing it down would come down to one item....THE SWING ARM PIVOT BOLT. it is now out and so is the engine...30 minutes:)

since i dont have to relly touch the front end ill take the a arms off as one complete unit. i have enough parts here to replace anything thats broken...but we maybe bleeding some brakes at hatfield:D

well after further inspection...there are too many bolts snapped off in the frame to consider just bolting in the new engine. its 100% completely apart. it would have taken me as long to dissassemble and fix the bolts then to tear it down.

ill shoot a frame and sub tomarrow for him. i guess red will be somewhat stylin at hatfield:eek:

if i had more time that wouldnt be any trouble. the frame and sub will be trans red with clear...everything else will be black or charcoal metalic....cuz i already have all that stuff pc'd sitting here.

i still work fulltime at the same ol 9to5. i have a great boss and tons of free time and a really flexible schedule. infact...the rebuild took place in my warehouse:p

in the last pic...thats my "lil" brother kevin. (6'2" 220 aint lil but he is to me:macho ) him and my other employee roger helped me turn a pile of parts into reds quad afterwork today...took us just shy of 3 hours

dont you just love those little "side projects" while on the job pappy? I do ;) gettin paid for it is just ooohhh, a little fringe benefit :p :devil:

nice work doin all that pap, I would have just thrown a new motor in and ealed with the frame after....
