I wonder how it would perform compared to the new Z400. I guess we'll know when/if Plummer buys one.

Yea it will be interesting to see it against the Z400. I think he should take Northgate up on their offer and place this quadracer in the showroom next to their first Z400 they get in. That would be neat to see the last generation sport quad next to the new generation.

Here is one more pic of the frame while it is being re-assembled...

Ummm no. That is just his garage.....work area. It was easier to run all the wires and little stuff having the frame up.

Every garage MUST have a fridge for the most important hand tool.......BEER! :D

I just recently found out that '86 was a non-powervalve year. I knew that '85 wasn't and thought it was started in '86 but come to find out, the first powervalve was in '87.

Eric, are the bars stock? My 3 Racer's that I owned had black steel bars with a thin, pencil-like crossbar wrapped in just some black foam.

Yep..you are right about the non powervalve. He has a OEM manual and it has all kinds of "suggestions" on what to change. One change is the exhaust and go with a bigger carb. I guess the later models (not sure of the year), but they went with a 34mm carb instead of the 32mm.

LOL....yea...they are stock bars......stock 400EX bars(from my 400) ;) The aftermarket bars he had did not work....not enough slack for the throttle and clutch cables. He might keep those and paint them or just get another set of Renthals...
