Big congrats to Traci Cecco and William Yokley for the morning and afternoon overalls. Even in the massive rocky creekbeds, neither one of these riders had flat tires because they were running the new TIRE BALLS in their tires!!!;)

GOT BALLS?

seams like a good idea ive only had tire trouble once or twice i just would hate 2 have 2 stop 4 a tire problem. guess that those high dollar electric inpact guns will be a thing of the past. by the way did the tires that william ran yesterday have any air left in them

cdalejef

Jeff, you need to get some t-shirts made with "Got Balls" on the front, then the promo for your tire balls on the back, along with the Quadshop logo, of course.

For More info on the tire balls go to www.tireballs.com I have been interested in this product ever since I read an article in Dirt Rider march of 03 issue. I have spoken to the manufacture ( Summers Racing Components 1-800-221-9752) of the tire balls about their atv applications many times it will be available in a couple of weeks. Retail will be around $250 per tire. If anyone is interested the tire balls, they will be available through C&D Racing:D

Retail will be around $250 per tire. cough, cough, choke, fall on ground. count me out... i know racing isn't for the "weak of wallet", but come on...1000.00 per set?

Hmm 20 tires or 4 sets of balls?

Colby@C&DRacing
09-22-2003, 04:55 PM
I understand the price shock, But if you consider that many racers can ruin two or more tires per race that cost can also add up over a season. With these balls you can put a hole in the side wall of a new tire and still use it for the rest of the year or more depending on tread wear. This product will not be for everyone but will be great for those that see the need:)

A flat proof system for tires! A big advantage for woods and desert racing. More info by the end of the week!;)

Note: Tire Ball™ Tire Inflation System is designed for Off Road use only. May not be suitable for use on the rear wheel for high speed uses (i.e. Baja racing, Desert Racing, etc.)

that's in fine print on the website

Pappy
09-22-2003, 08:01 PM
lol..fine print maybe....but i watched jeff ride with them at hatfield and he wasnt going slow:devil:

$1000 for the security that if i spend my weeks vacation in the boonies i wont be spend all day hunting down a tire store:macho

i cant imagine anyone selling them at retail...atleast they better not try :D

lshonda310
09-22-2003, 08:10 PM
I couldn't imagine very many being sold for that price, I think 300 to 500 is more reasonable for them, but if you want to be guaranteed not to have a flat it might be worth it.

I would have to say if you are racing for your paycheck like some of the pro's then this would be a good thing. I just wish it was more affordable to those that are just getting started. Jeff, do you have a payment plan set up for the tire balls?

Wingnut
09-22-2003, 08:32 PM
$1000? Any body know how much bicycle innertubes are? Maybe I can just stuff my tires full of them.:p

that's in fine print on the website Thats just a disclamer! They have been used in the desert series for the last 3 years in motorcycles and 1 quad! We even put them in an XR650L and rode many miles on the interstate!

could we do a group buy and get some cheaper maybe? if so i could swing that but 1000 bucks for a set of 4 i dunno man thats alotta cash to throw down and what would happen if you got a sidewall puncture?

Nuttin happens you keep riding. Jeff had a 2 inch hole in his sidewall the entire ride at hatfield last time. He rode for 4 days with it like that. The tire just holds the balls in place.. you can have 20 one inch holes in your tire and it still won't go flat..

wyndzer
09-23-2003, 08:08 AM
So why don't they make a tire out of the ball material?

Ya but your interstate speed is kind of slow if I remember right it is 65 mph :blah:

not an attack on the bike or the tire balls just stating that 65 is slow compared to our 75mph :D
