hiper rim owners...

i am undecided whether i want to get hipers for my new quad...one side of me says "heck ya get em' their bad*****", but the other is like "your a freaking retart for paying nearly $700 for rims". so that brings me to my question....for those of you that own hipers.....did you regret spending so much money on rims? so far the cheapest place i found them at is c&d. is there any other places to check into that has good prices?

I feel its worth the money, i've had no problem with my Hipers except i can't keep the hub tight on the axle. So i would advise you not to get the 8 inch rim. Other then that, there trick looking, light and very durable. I also bought mine from C&D

Unless im sponsored by someone else, i will never run w/o hipers. Ive never had a prob w/ the hub being tight or anything. Prolly one of the best buys and best looking thing ive bought for the quad.:D :D :D

Your hub stacying tight on your has nothing to do with the size of your rim, that happens to a lot of people regardless of the size. My douglas beadlock does it too....but i've got it good now.

the hub thing happens with a lot of different wheels, it's not specific to Hiper 8" integrated hub wheels. I would sooner believe it was an aftermarket axle issue.....JIM

Thats correct, what i said had nothing to do with the size of the rim, just the fact that it had intergrated hub. I can keep my stock hubs tight on my RPM axle easily but for sum reason i just can't keep the hiper hub tight, i usually bust out the lead pipe and just torque the piss out of it. I'm afraid to put lock tite on it so if i have to change to bigger tires.

I have had the same set of Hipers for half of the midsouth season and all of the GNCC season. Not a single problem!!! I would have already had to replace alum beadlocks because of flat spotting. You can get them cheaper than Ultimate beadlocks if you just call around. Well worth the money.

I like the 9" rims I got from C&D they have been very durable and I recieved them in about a week. I have heard of other people waiting forever to recieve their rims from hiper. It isn't dealer specific just hiper.

One of my best friends have Hypers on his R and he says they were deffinalty worth it. the only problem is that he couldnt get the tire on his front/left Bead all the way...only in one spot. But its not a problem, its not letting air out or showing signs of coming off. Its only in one little spot too...i wouldnt worry about it

What is the biggest advantage to hiper wheels in performance? I am getting a GG Wild 300 and was thinking about hipers? What are the best sizes to get for hill climbing and trails? Any thoughts appreciated! THANKS!:p

Their weight compared to alum beadlocks and their flexability. For just playing around and woods, get 9" rears.


Killa....tell your friend to break the bead back down and coat the rim real good with WD-40 then air it back up. It should pop right in place!

Ive had my hipers for 2 full seasons and there the best investment i made on the bike.

HiPers are well worth the money. I would not buy another aftermarket wheel, No more worrying about flat spotting, dings blah blah. Also, HiPer is a very very good company, during shipping of my wheels one of my bolts became loose in the box and as a result the rim dinged the threads so I couldn't use the bolt. HiPer sent a new one in a very timely manner...no questions asked.

You may think they are expensive...but they are really not for what you're getting. A nearly indestructable, modular, light weight beadlock...doesn't get better then that!

I do not regret paying the price for the HiPers. I also do not regret the price I paid for the Douglas Ultimate Billet Beadlocks. But like Jeff said, the aluminum ones do get flat spots.:(

I do like the Douglas Billet Beadlocks look over the HiPers, but those that know me, I like to make my atv as "bullet proof" as possible... And I feel the HiPers would be the wiser choice.

To date, I have had no problems with my HiPer fronts or rears... And I do hit a lot of trees!:rolleyes: (Not as much as Ron (Derno24) does though!:D ).

In short, I do not regret getting the HiPer rims for the money.

I have seen Ron (Derno24) get a 3" rock locked between his front wheel and brake rotor, and no damage to his HiPer rim!:macho If the rim was aluminum, the rim would have been untrue, and possibly not able to rotate around the caliper.

I have seen Mike Brown (Ex'r Mike) hit a sharp rock with his rear tire and rim that caused the rim to crack and not hold air. If it were aluminum, the aluminum would probably still hold air and he could have continued to ride the rest of the day. The good thing though... HiPer replaced the cracked half under their one year warranty!!!!:macho

Yes, you can bang out the flat spots on aluminum rims, but I have not yet to date get them where they are true in diameter and straight like I wish they could be... Douglas does not offer a warranty.:(
