250x cam in 300ex

I was reading in an old 4 wheel atv action magazine that a 250x has a slightly hotter cam than the 300ex and that it will make a noticable diffrence in your 300ex.
Is this true , I find it hard to believe because I'm pretty sure that the 300 and 250 cam are the same part number.

i just bought a 250x for $350 bucks and i have a 300ex as well and i was wondering about the cams as well.

I dunno they listed it as a good mod for a 300ex, So it should work. Its worth a try , i mean what have you got to loose except time.

You bought the whole 250x for only $350? If so, I may have someone interested in your frame/rolling chassis if you wanted to sell it and it wasnt cracked or anything.

I bought it for $350 and the only thing wrong with it was one of the intake valves broke and i had another head so i put it on and 3 kicks later it was running , this thing looks good to to be a 91 modle .

the cams ya'll are talking about are no the same. in the 88, 91, and 92 they are the same as a 300ex but the first year in 87 they had a hoteer cam then they downsized it in 88. (dont know why) i hvae ridden 91 and 92 250x's and mine still seems alot more powerful. i think that the cam helps alot. so if you could find one i'd do it.
