clutch lifter pin

Has anyone ever broke a clutch lifter pin? I was just wondering if this is the result of another problem or just natural wear and tear

good thing its only a cheap little part tho, i was happy about that

I've heard of other people havin the prob. to so i'll just say its natural wear and tear

yea i know a freind that broke one and i have about twice the hours that he did with no problems yet i think he rode the clutch alot! :(

It's easy to replace, I had to do mine about 4 months ago. And a friend of mine had to replace his on his xr400.

This happen to me, a little over a year ago, al you have to do is take the right sidecase cover off, then take off your pressure plate and the pin slides straight out.

I just fixed mine, very easy to fix, cheap to $8.50 for the pin and $13 for the gasket

while you have the clutch case off I highly recommend that you take out and clean the little oil pump filter. Its located below the clutch basket kinda on the bottom towards the right, its help by a 10mm bolt. just undo the bolt and get some pliers grab the little tab and pull the screen out

then just clean the screen out with some solvent, i used gas with a small brisle brush

my clutch lifter pin popped after years of clutch pulls on a heavy duty clutch spring with shims (cr500 springs and shims).

few bucks and about an hour or less to replace.

Just imagine how many times that clutch pulls in?

Its pretty normal mine broke a year and a half ago. I'm not hard on the clutch or anything mine still really isnt that bad for being almost 4 years old. (over 2 years as a 440)
