Everyone,
I was just informed that my address book has been infected with a virus. As
a result, so has yours because your address is in my book. The virus is
called jdbgmgr.exe It cannot be detected by Norton or McAfee Anti-virus
programs. It sits quietly for about 14 days before damaging the system. It
is
sent
automatically by messenger and address book, whether or not you send email.
The good news is that it is easy to get rid of! Just follow these simple
steps
and you should have no problem
1. Go to Start, then Find or Search
2. In files/folders, write the name jdbgmgr.exe
3.Be sure to search in your "C" drive for jdbgmgr.exe
4. click Find or Search
5. The virus has a teddy bear logo with the name jdbgmgr.exe.
DO NOT OPEN
6. RIGHT click and delete it
7. Go to the recycle bin and delete it there also.
IF YOU FIND THE VIRUS, YOU MUST CONTACT EVERYONE IN YOUR
ADDRESS BOOK. (You may want to just cut and paste this email, replacing your

name for mine and send it out) Sorry for all the trouble, but this is
something I had no control over. I received it by someone else's address
book, just as you may have received it from me and also you may have
uncontrollably sent it to those in you address book. Sorry about this
everyone, It was
very easy to find and delete. Just received this from one of my friends and
sure enough I followed the steps and the virus was there. Please do the
same.
Thanks

common sense it is! It is a real file but its not a virus. Some loser just gets a kick out of tricking people to delete important files from there comptuer.

If you purposely tried to trick us, then you are a dumb****, or if your friend genuinely told you this, you just did something pretty stupid.

Hmm now.. what does THIS look like??

English, version 3 (The BlankA version)

Dear All,

BlankA virus has been passed to me by a contact. My address book in turn has been affected. Since you are in my address book there is a good chance
you will find it in your computer too.

I followed the direction below and eradicated the virus easily. The virus (called jdbgmgr.exe) is not detected by Norton or McAfee anti-virus
systems. The virus sits quietly for 14 days before damaging the system. It is sent automatically by messenger and by the address book whether or not
you sent emails to your contacts.

Here is how you check for the virus and get rid of it.

1. Go to start, find or search option.

2. In the file/folders option, type the name: jdbgmgr.exe

3. Be sure to search your C: drive and all the subfolders and any other drives you may have.

4. Click "find now"

5. The virus has a teddy bear icon with the name jdbgmgr.exe. DO NOT OPEN IT

6. Go to edit (on the menu bar), choose "select all" to highlight the file without opening it.

7. Now go to the file (on the menu bar) and select delete. It will then go to the recycle bin.

8. Empty your recycle bin.

IF YOU FIND THIS VIRUS,YOU MUST CONTACT ALL THE PEOPLE IN YOUR ADDRESS BOOK SO THEY CAN ERADICATE IT IN THEIR OWN ADDRESS BOOKS.

To do this:

(a) Open a new e-mail message

(b) Click on the icon of the address book next to the "TO"

(c) Highlight every name and add to "BCC"

(d) Copy this message above and paste to e-mail.

(e) Enter subject

Apologies for the inconvenience and to those of you who have had this message several times from different peopl:rolleyes:

my mom got that warning from one of her friends, so we deleted the file. I didn't mess anything up, so I went to work and look on the computers there, and they had it. So I looked on some old laptops that had never been on the internet, and they had it. So I talked to my boss about it(he's a computer geek) and he said it was just for people who are using the java program. Thats just my $0.02
