You come out here and we can show you EVERYTHING quads are doing on the ground.

You should also check out the quad forum on Stuntlife if you haven't already. Right now there are a lot of BS posts on there, but some good stuff too.

Seriously though, feel free to hit me up on AIM (JoshCVBz) or MSN (machlanphear@hotmail.com) if you have any questions on this stuff.

CVBoyz are the best quad stunt team around...no one is pulling some of the stunts they can do. They have all of their tricks on lock with the exception of a few. If you guys were going to put any ground stunts in your movie you would have to check out the cvboyz, why would you settle for someone who is less talented in the world of stunt riding?

credibility is how much somebody trusts in your words, actions and how dependable you are. there are some people on this sight who are pro riders and some who are darn good riders as well. so if they say they can do something, then 9 times out of 10 they are probably telling the truth. :)

Okay...First off, I gotta thank Jellyrolls, jdmimports, blastermaster, and mojave king for their support...I'm glad you guys have interest in what we love to do.

Secondly....I'm having a hard time following a couple of the other posts...mainly the 1 liners, but maybe it's just because I'm dumb. I never claimed to be very bright. So, I guess I won't try to read into them and find a hidden meaning anywhere.

Thirdly....Yes, I would love to see what you guys are doing on the ground. I enjoy looking at pics of anybody doing that stuff, but would be even more intrigued to see what you guys are pulling off just for curiosity's sake. So if you could post a little sample up that would be great.

Back to me being dumb...Jon, I'm not exactly sure what you mean by this part of your post exactly though "so what if we post movie's or pictures of stuff that we can do thats better then the cvboyz?". Are you speaking strictly of ground stuff, cause I think that is as far as the topic has gone. If you are referring to aerial stuff then there is no question that you guys are the standard for that...lol....look through our pictures and see if you can find one trick you'd classify as aerial freestyle, I don't think such a thing exists ;) . Now, if you are talking about ground stuff, then we can keep going :D .

Also...I think the last set of pictures I posted of us doing our thing was from like the beginning of June. Lots has changed from then too.

Welp, I've rambled enough. Sorry for being long winded...I'm just confused about a couple things.

DUDE i dont get you...... you always act like you have something against the CVboyz.....is it cause what they do? They are taking the sport to another league thats all.....you have your jumping then your racing then your trail riding and anything else i left out....then you have your stunt riding and the cvboyz own that part of the sport.......

im not trying to take sides but you have to give them props for the **** they are pulling off while riding a wheelie.....just as they give props to you for the **** you pull off in the air......

you brought up stunt riding in your post so ofcourse your going to get replies from the fans of the Cvboyz, cause they know they are the best at what they do....so why would you want somone who cant do some of teh biggest tricks in stunt riding when you can have a few members from the cvboz throw down for you..........

its a little bit easier then wheeling things with 2 wheels....unless its a damn 50 which are a ***** to wheelie decent.......but its not about the basic wheelie its about the tricks you can try to do while your wheeling....if you know what i mean...

like try riding a wheelie backwards with no hands and tell me how easy it is just for one example

JLanphear

Look...here is how it is...

First of all....I didn't start this topic, and nowhere in the topic did I make any claims about anybody or their skills.

Second....people saying that they don't like what we choose to do doesn't bother me a bit. It's your opinion and you are entitled to it. We do this for fun and for the people that do like it.

Believe it or not, but we have received tons of positive feedback regarding what we do. We've also had the oppertunity to get to know a ton of cool people that we wouldn't have gotten the chance to talk to if we hadn't been doing this. For that I'm greatful.....and to me it would take 10 bad comments to take away the feeling of 1 good one.

nacsEX....it's cool that you think what we do is gay. Opinions are something you can't really debate. The only thing that bothers me is your disrespect for somebody else's opinions....I mean, it's not like he said anything bad about you....he just stated what he felt about it.

aaaaaaaanyway....

This is easy and that's a fact? I'm sorry for getting a little defensive, but that is a completely idiotic comment. The only FACT is that there are limitless things that can be done....maybe everything you have seen so far is easy (which I disagree with also), but I can name off a bunch of stuff that nobody out there right now can do...but who knows...maybe this year, maybe next, maybe 5 years down the road people will be doing it. You think this is all easy??? Go out and and do a 150ft endo....go out and start off in a standard wheelie and climb to a switchback highchair and then ride it no handed for 100 yards. This stuff is progressing every day....and there are people out there that love doing it so it will continue to progress. Not only that, but the tricks that are out there right now can be improved on even more....The thing is, we can only progress as far as we are being pushed....You know how it is when somebody outdoes you, you do something back to out do them? It's like that with every sport....In FMX the guys riding right now are the best there have ever been...and the guys of tomorrow will be even better....that's just how it works.

For example...watch an early freestyle video....You won't see a superman, kiss of death, any of those big tricks....Now 15 year old kids are out there doing supermans like it's nothing. Does that mean the old pro's had no skills? Why weren't they doing supermans back then? It just hadn't gotten there yet.

So fine....call what we do "something you do for a good time", because I couldn't agree more...that's why we do it.

If you guys, and anybody else wanna sit here and call what we do "gay" or "easy"...feel free. If you see through my eyes, and see what I have gotten from it, you'd think differently.

-Josh

Juggalo
10-11-2003, 10:48 PM
of course there is progress to be made in the "sport" but what is out there right now is easy and to me its not worth my effort to go and try to progress it myself, but its your guys thing so by all means go out there and do it. i'm not trying to tell you guys to stop cuz a couple people don't like it, all i am saying is almost everything i have seen i can do fairly easily myself, and sure if we went head to head you'd probably come out on top but then again i'm not out there practicing everyday either. i am damn good tho if i do say so myself and to me it comes easy. by the way i'd love to see somebody ride a no handed wheelie for any great distance. unless your talkin cliffhanger wheelies where you work the throttle with your foot (which i can do) or you are just riding on your grab bar grinding it away. yes i can do no handed wheelies too but its impossible to ride them far because the compression in a 4 stroke motor is almost like applying a brake and it brings the front end down when you are not on the gas. you can tell me to try imaginary tricks that are impossible all day long but its not gonna make you sound any cooler. hey why don't you try to go into a wheelie in 5th gear pinned and grab the front bumper and do a handstand on it while still balancing in a wheelie and then push up with your hands and do an inverted 360 in the air and acid drop back down onto the seat. the sports got to progress ya know.

i don't hate the cv boys or ground freestyle. i am glad they are out there doin what they like. but i just don't agree with all the people thinking ground freestyle is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

JLanphear
10-11-2003, 11:28 PM
Okay....first....what do other peoples opinions have anything to do with you? If they like something, they like something...none of your concern.

It may just be me, but the certain things you say seem to contridict eachother....If things are so easy, you shouldn't have any problem doing every trick I do, so if we were to go head to head it should be a tie.

Who is out there practicing every day? Today was the first day I rode my quad in over a month. Other than that, my schedule for riding has been one day per week...Sunday....for a whopping 2 or 3 hours (often less). In fact I can tell you exactly how much "practice" I have had. Total...this summer....I have been to our lot 6 whole times. Granted, I have ridden some at my house on the lawn, which is less than an acre total, and usuable distance is maybe 15ft wide and 40ft long...so as you can imagine, if I'm doing anything around there it's something simple that I knew how to do a year ago.

No Handed wheelies....how far is "any great distance". 50ft? 100ft? More? Been done. Personally, my longest no hander is by no means record breaking, but there are people out there rolling them a long ways. I can roll mine further than most of my friends can ride a normal wheelie. And to clear up any questions....with the exception of an apehangar, no tricks that I do require the grab bar to be dragging on the ground, they are all true wheelies. Also, when I say "no handers"....i do not use anything else to press the throttle.

Imaginary tricks? I stated two things which are completely possible. I have seen video of a person that I talk to online do a 75ft endo with a stock 400ex...he said his personal best is over 100ft. That leads me to believe that 150ft is not impossible or imaginary. Highchair switchback no hander? Imaginary? Nope. Has anybody done it right now..not that I know of, but I believe that it can be done. And that's the thing....maybe these tricks are imaginary....they start off in your head and become real when you do them....a backflip on a sled was imaginary once....so was one on a dirtbike....

Man, I've got nothing against you....and I respect your views. I feel kinda bad even having to reply about something so petty, but if you are going to state what you believe are facts I want to throw in my point of view also. If somebody just wants to say that we suck, or that we are gay, then fine that's what they think. I have no reason to respond to them since they aren't stating anything but their opinion.

People that say they like this stuff, and feel that it's great may be making a big deal over nothing....so if it's nothing, why respond?
