300/400 arms on 250ex

Theres been a lot of talk about eitehr flipping or adding wheel spacers to the 250ex...Both lead to problems with stress on the spindles.
To eliminate the that stress would 300ex stock a arms fit on the 250, how much wider and, would the 250ex shock be able to be used...
And the same questions about the 400ex a arm setup on the 250. I know the 400ex setup will fit the 300 i know a guy who has done it...????
