I was thinking they should put the 250ex motor on the 300ex chassis and give the 400ex reverse for us trail riders. The 250 would be better suited for more riders then too. I would've bought the 400 if it had reverse.

Or the motor from the cfr250 that would be sweet, i think i heard suzuki or kawisaki was doing that. I like the idea of having a 250 racer. It would be awesome to have 3 classe, the 440, open, and a 250. 5200 sounds better for the 400.

I think they should leave the line up how it is, dont change anything. I don't know why/how you could want reverse on the 400, I don't think I would ever use it, except when I am being incredibly lazy. If your that lazy, you definately dont "need" the reverse :p :macho

Man, just got a brand new 03 300ex for 4700 OTD. I bet I coulda got a 400 for close to that now. Oh well, still having fun on the 300. As for reverse, it's nice to have out in the dunes... but not really necessary.

I just paid $5000 OTD for my girlfriend's 400ex (graduation present-- hell of a guy, ain't I?). I also got 6.9% APR for 60 mos and $0 down, 0 interest for 90 days. Pretty sweet deal, I think. Funny thing is, I'm sure they still made a butt-load of money off of me.:p

i think honda should take the 300 out of the lineup and use the frame for a crf250 engine. and you still got quads for all differnt skill levals. or just leave the 300 in. but in a while id say all compines will have 250s out

I would like a 400EX but I do NEED reverse. I go on tight, off camber trails and without reverse you are simply screwed. The 250EX is the perfect size for trails like that. It has all the plus's of the Recon as a trail machine but with much more power. I love it.

Since the 250EX is still pretty good in its class, it is easy to sell one for 3000. Come winter I think you'll see 400EX's down in the 2800-3200 range. There is already several nice ones for 3200 around here. I would like one but with no reverse I just can't afford it on some of those trails.

I think their lineup is great right now and it's actually the best they've had in 14 years (since the R). It's not that Honda's lineup is bad it's just that everyone else's is better.

I do know one thing, I sure hope Fullbore or someone is working on new 450R plastics cause that thing is *** ugly.

:rolleyes2
