Good Luck. There will be an initial wave of bikes around the end of the year then a lul in shipments for a while. Expect to pay MSRP if you want it that early.

I'm buying mine from a Honda dealer in AZ that is only getting 1 in Dec. The parts mgr gets the second TRX but doesn't expect it till Feb. I'm paying MSRP but I put down a non-refundable deposit a month before the scetch came out in anticipation of its release.

I know a sales mgr at the largest motorcycle dealer group in the world and he said they are gonna price the first ones to hit the floor at $8k plus load them up with as much aftermarket stuff as is available. It's Arizona in the middle of dune season, they'll get it.

I'd bet you won't get one OTD for less than $7300.

$6500 OTD w/ an extended warranty is nuts:eek2: If they're willing to sell the first one that cheap, you must be well loved at that dealership...

What company will the warranty be through?

$6800 OTD is what I'm paying for the first one out here

ive heard several diff stories on the warranty from several dealers....i had it on my 400 and used it several times....saved me a lot of money
i hope it is warranted....some people will not race it.....some will just woods ride the hell out of it....its not labeled strictly a race quad

if the 450r dont have a warranty....ill get out of sport quads all together....and buy a rubicon:eek:

Josh,
Who are you getting it from?

joshamahan

It's a dealership in southern Ky. I shouldn't be telling everyone who they are because they are kinda hookin me up and I dont want them to get mad. I put 3500$ down on it today and it should be in sometime in Jan.:D

Look right on Yamaha's web site. It says six month warranty on the YFZ. I'm sure Honda will have the same. As far as price, around here, I don't see them going less than retail for a while.

Unless you work at a dealership or you are related to the owner, I can't see why any shop would sell for under MSRP. I think some folks are just wishing.

The total for mine including tax, setup and freight is 7023.00, But I am gonna get the HRC power up kit for free

OH, and there is a warranty, I wanted mine in the crate so I could put it together myself, but that voids the warranty

TRX450R - $6199.00 this includes shipping and set up (dealer said shipping and set up was $190.00)and I am getting the first one the dealer receives.

A friend of mine is getting the second 450R the dealer receives for the same price.

According to Honda there is a 6 month warranty with an extended warranty available.

They wrote down 6499 on my slip. Probably be a little more than that OTD

dirtriderex--------- I think I am getting a pretty good deal.

The dealer I am buying from only sells ATV's in the Honda line. I have been loyal to this guy since they opened their doors (they also sell snowmobiles and tractors), although I have not bought any ATV's from him, I have sent several people to him that have bought ATV's and tractors from him. They are a small dealer and don't have a lot of overhead.

I hope you didn't put money down at Michigan City Honda, cuz if you did you're not first.

no, have money down at turn one in plymouth, i would never buy from michigan city, i ordered a seal for my 250r, took them 3 weeks and when i finally got it, it was the wrong size. and they were not very helpful

That's odd, My buddy had his 265 rebuilt there and they had all the parts in stock, aside from the aftermarket jug/sleve/piston. The same guy has had $ down on the first 450R since July.

Where in LaPorte do you live?

I grew up on US 20 where the "Enchanted Forest" Indian is now 'tween US35 and US39. I was just back there 2 weeks ago and got a full day of riding in. One of my Chicago friends has a 12 mile Hare Scramble loop cut into his farm by the MI state line in Springfield Twp. They [40 year old Illinois guys] race vintage enduros out there 2 times a year. Best place to ride that NOBODY knows about. The trails are big enough to ride Pilots or snowmobiles on and even has an MX section that is built into a 5 acre sand dune - in the middle of the woods. I miss that track but I traded it for Glamis.

Do you ever go out to the Prison? We used to ride the RR tracks from near Whitaker Woods golf course [New Buffalo] to the Prison, right through MC by Ames Field. I hear they [NIPSCO and Amtrack] have been cracking down on folks out there.

If you ever want to come to Glamis between Christmas and New Years let me know. One of my friends comes out every year and would probably haul your quad out for ya.

Back on topic,

You guys back east are fortunate. If you live in AZ or SoCal you are lucky to pay MSRP for a 450R. The big dealer-group here is planning on selling the first ones for $7995 and people will buy them.

Sorry about hijacking the thread guys.
