IDEA: exriders atv builder of the year

I already ran this across pappy, he thought it would be cool, but i would love for this to work. We could make it so whoever wanted to compete this winter would sign up....then at a set due date, the atv must be finished. When it is finished EXRIDERS as a whole will vote on all completed quads. Whoever wins maybe could recieve a trophy or somethin.

yeah i thought of that too...BUT your only in if you sign up....there are plenty of good quads running around in this forum that could be voted on...there are quads on here bing built every winter

this is getting complicated, i guess to become "builder of the year" you just have to be able to dish out the cash....i mean think about it, theres no other way to do it, unless we have spent classes like more than 15000 less than 1000...but thats would just get too complicated....so i guess if you dont think you can win because of money, dont sign up:( Tim far jermiah, they have no choice either to have sponsors or have money, they dont call off a race because jermiah cant afford a new steering stem...im sorry if im not being fair about this

you should break it up into how much money was spent total...

of coarse someone spending $10,000 would have the nicest one, but people who want to join could say how much they spent, say $3,000, and if theres a few other people around the same price range, we should have difference catergories (how much $ you spent) understand?

How about we have it go till atleast march 1st. The reason why is I need that long to get it ready, I wont be finished cause my riding season starts the earliest april. Well I guess you guys can see the motor frame and stuff liek that, but it wont look pretty. I am only 16 and dont have a job that pays $30 an hour. Minimum wage sucks. But its up to you, I am not in charge of it.

I will post pics of it when I am done though, No EARLY PICS EITHER.

Well I am building the R from the ground up except it has a stock frame. So what exact category would it go under, it isnt exactly a custom quad ?

I say four catagories - MX over 5k, MX under 5K and XC over 5k and under 5k. I also think whoever is in charge of the contest should get verified before pics so we don't have anyone bust out a quad they already had built. Make them hold up the newspaper in the before pic like a ransom photo LOL. And I definately think you should just make it March 1st at the earliest.

Why not mx/xc under 5k, mx/xc over 5k, tt/drag under 5k, tt/drag over 5k....thats would make it a little more diverse and fair...

i think a seperate class for each model is all, i would assume this is a looks contest, pc and polishing is fairly cheap, labor is easy, money should not be an issue.

While we are on the Why Not subject, Why not a Dune section at least. Im kinda against dividing it into categories by type, too complicated. Just make a Range like Best 500-5000 and best 5-10,000 and so on.

Im pretty sure that engine is still in early production, i dont think Oldsandman is going to be able to get ahold of one. And when it does come out, it would most likely be over-seas first. He would have to special order it.
