I was talking with my sales rep about trading in the 400ex and he said to just keep it because the rebuild time on the trx 450r is every 10.5 hours :eek2: :eek2:

Without the quad being released to the public nobody can say how reliable it's going to be. But, the piston skirts were lengthened, a 3rd piston ring was added, wrist pin was enlarged and several additional bearings were added. I say "BS" to manual specified rebuilds. It all comes down to maintenance schedule, riding style and conditions. I can't remember what Suzuki's suggested rebuild time was on my old LT250R but after 16 years it is still 100% original. 4punksdad now owns it and he hasn't rebuilt it either. Sorta throws the whole rebuild thing out the window.

castor....thats nothin...soon as i get my 450r home im strippin off the stock stuff....gettin houser plus 3 long travel a-arms, pep zps shox, TC exhaust, FCR 41mm carb, K&n air filter lsr axle, stage 2 cam, douglas rims, holeshot mxr rear, holeshot mx fronts, takin the swing arm skid plate off, tag handle bars, ac pro peg nerfs, ac front bumper, shock wears, the woody grafix kit (gotta have it)...hopefully by then quad tech will design a hood for it, and if that bike dont have enuff hp after the fcr 41mm, and the stage 2 cam imma go to a 13:1 compression ratio and last but not least ill take the goober front plastics off....

10.5 hours? that is the biggest BS ive ever heard. i bet that thing will run for years without a rebuild. unless i somehow went in a hole and it changed into a 2 stroke?:huh :ermm:

wont be much of a problem....400ex a-arms, axle, and shox will work on the 450r...so what ill do is ill get pep zps shox for the 400ex, houser a-arms for the 400ex, and lsr axle for the 400ex...besides by the time i get my bike alot of after market companys will have done built shyt for it....im gettin mine in late 2004 or late 2005...
