Just got'm in and the install was 5min. Good hardware and instruction. Got them from Denton Racing...(THANKS GUYS!),
Denton and OMF threw in 6 or 8 extra stickers and shipping was 2days. These were made for the 400ex specifically. Tinner makes these too but the red anodized is what I wanted. Cost=60.00 with shipping. Anyway check'm out :D

I like the red ones, here are mine.......

01-31-2002, 09:22 AM
Those red ones look really good and appear to mount up pretty dang easy,,I'd order me some but done got Tinners mounted up and the cost was alot cheaper,,can't discuss that though I'm under contract...:D

01-31-2002, 10:15 AM
Yeah I almost picked up Tinners work but I couldnt pass on getting these although his are very affordable. I didnt see any other colors offered. I used the motoman website and looked under his OMF link to find that they had the red ones. I think some gold ones would look pretty cool on red.

how much where the omf scoops??

01-31-2002, 04:08 PM
Like 60.00 +/- few bucks.... Lookup Tinner in here if thats out of your price range, he hand crafts these himself and from what I have seen and heard he does a real good job and for a VERY reasonable price.

those do lood VERY nice!! How would you rate them for washability and durability?? I know sometimes i gotta get the burning hot water from the house to get the mud off my bike. Think they'll hold up to weather and abuse. I think i'm gonna order a pair.

Also, great pics. What kind of camera do you have?? I wish i could get some quality pics of my bike like those. thanks

02-01-2002, 11:41 AM
honestly I haven't ran it through the mud yet with them on.... but since you mentioned it, I think I will throw some rain-x or a coat of wax just in case. The aluminum is pretty thick for what they are and definitely dont have a flimsy feel to them so I think they will stand up to some weathering. By far I was not disappointed in the craftsmanship....solid and light stuff! Someone asked previously if they had any other colors, I never asked but you might want to if your looking for something to match. If you get some, post a pic.

I'm using a fuji 2.1 mega pixel camera.... pretty straight forward with some quality and size setting options.

Holty----> I notice you got the works lever & perch..... is it worth it? I'd like to get one for myself... once the arm pump starts to kick in, I can barely pull the stock....LOL

I'll also post pics after i get my scoops and install them.

02-01-2002, 12:54 PM
they look nice! I might get them black, I have to see it first.

02-01-2002, 09:12 PM
I bet the black on yellow will look tight!.... yeah post some pics when you can.... you guys will like the quality! Were they offering any other colors than black, silver, or red?

----->Holty
How much did ya pay for the works clutch and perch if you dont mind me asking? I was looking at it on the website and saw two different one's.... you got the pro perch or the ez perch?

do they really work? They look PHAT though. Man I hate you guys!!!!! Now I have to go buy them. :D

02-07-2002, 10:28 AM
Holty-------> the directions that come with it are pretty good. The two inner connections that go directly to the fram will use the aluminum spacers and the replacement bolt. The one outside connection to the fender will still use the oem bolt. Enjoy!

What about for trail riding or even on the MX track? Will they dent or ding easy. Also what about chipping of the paint on the anodized black and red. Otherwise they look sweet. Can you use them if your fenders are stock?

Holty
02-28-2002, 07:03 AM
I've had mine installed now for a couple weeks. Sorry for not getting back to you guys, I've been waiting on the digital camera I ordered to come in so I could post pics.

The scoops look SWEET! Every where I go people compliment on how good they look. I got Raptor guys drooling over my bike lol.

I ride mainly hardcore trails and small MX style tracks and they are fine. I also am using stock plastics. They havn't chipped, scratched, or bent yet. Like Buck said, they are pretty solid and they only way I think you'll bend them is if you roll and land on them. Even after a long day of riding (muddy as ****) they hold up to the pressure washer with no problems and the stickers stick to them well also.

I give them an A+ for quality, looks, and durability. And I'm not the type of person to cut anyone or anything slack if I don't like the product.

I'll have pics soon as I get my camera.

02-28-2002, 12:09 PM
damn... hurry up with pics Holty! I wanna see the black ones on your quad.

Yeah JB you can put them on with stock fenders. I'd cut'm off though..just my thoughts. They are solid so mx or xc will be no problem. I dont see the anodizing fading on you... maybe a goudge(sp) or scrape would cosmetically damage it. Holty is putting a pressure washer on it so that should tell ya something.

do you think ya can get a pic from the front to see both of them and see how they look like.
thanks

Finally got my digital camera, now I can't figure out how to get the pics up here. I'm pretty sure 700k is too large to upload. I don't know if I'm gonna have to retake them or not?? any ideas?

03-02-2002, 07:46 PM
I think you should be okay with 700k.... I think they allow 1024k max upload. If it is though, open your pic with the "Paint" program in the start menu... then resize the pic a little. I had to do that last night....LOL

hey Buck,y Buddy has a Works Connection Pro Perch, like Holty's,It is pretty sweet.

It has small needle bearings in it,thats what makes it soo easy. It is soo smooth, the pull feels easier too.

I have a 2001 YZ clutch perch on mine now,but I am gonna order a Works Connection lever, and a bolt, and see if i can modify my perch to make the lever fit.

03-02-2002, 08:15 PM
Yeah Holty already talked me into one... I put it on a couple of weeks ago and your right.... that thing is top notch. Good luck with that YZ clutch project... you'd save quit a bit probably too!

Last one for now.......

Works Connection clutch lever

03-02-2002, 09:31 PM
NICE! VERY NICE! I see you already gotem stickered up to...LOL I did the same the next day. I digg your rims and tires... I think that will be next...hehehe How much/where did that run you if you dont mind me asking? That perch and lever is the best money have put into my quad... no complaints. Did you check out those Emgos I put on yesterday? I would recommend those to you if your in the market for some handguards.

Your comp tech too huh? I was a tech in the Army and then Apple after I got out.... dont know how I ended up in telecom but now comps are another hobby.

Holty
03-02-2002, 09:51 PM
Buck,

Don't you know that each sticker is worth atleast 5hp!! LOL!!!

Thanks for the compliment on the rims. I get yelled at every saturday after riding for sitting in the mud or rain or whatever is left over in the drive way from cleaning the bike for polishing them up by my g/f. I got them from Rocky Mountain but I can't remember how much I paid. Less than $500 but I think more than $400 with shipping. Sorry I can't remember.

I totally agree about the clutch lever and perch. My buddy thought I was crazy for spendin the cash for that thing until he tried it out himself. Have you been playing with it to adjust it at all? Everytime I adjust it I can't decide which setting I like better or how far out I want the lever to be. Anyway, money well spent if ya ask me :)

Yeah, I did get to check out those hand gaurds you are sportin now. Pretty descent looking, but i'm actually hoping the g/f will let me go for some Roll Design footpegs here soon. That is after I come up with some cash.....after all I did just spend a small fortune on a digital camera just so you guys can check out my OMF scoops LOL! :()

03-02-2002, 10:28 PM
LOL.... "He who has the most toys in the end, WINS!"...right? Wow.. the roll design pegs... I seen those.... LMAO though, cant justify to the wife on paying that much for em. I really like those too, gives a good pro look to the quad I think. Heard any on the qaulity of them? I've been playing with the lever ever since I bought it.... finally got it down to a just cruising position and then 4 to 5 clicks for aggressive riding. Would have never thought you could find "sweet spots" in perch and lever...LOL

The pics are quality bro! What type/kind did you end buying?

Holty
03-03-2002, 05:33 PM
I got the Olympus Camedia C-3040Z

It's sweet as ****. It takes movies with sound and has a nice LCD screen. It's 3.3 Megapixel 3X optical zoom.
