head bolt

Ive read that some people use a long bolt instead of the stud. Are there any downsides to doing this? Just wondering because I was thinking of doing this on the front stud by the spark plug.

well from what I've alway heard, Studs are naturally stronger than using a long bolt, because your only torqueing down the nut on the stud, and not twisting the entire shaft like a bolt. But whether or not you can use a long bolt on the head, i don't know what to tell you. i'd stick with the stud. just my 2cents.
