I have read stories about advanced timing keys and i was wanting the scoop. What kind of advantage do you get out of one? How easy to install? Where do you get them? My buddy has a 400 ex with a 440 kit and he asked me about it and i wasnt for sure.

Curtis Sparks sells them for 15 dollars, and you have to get in there with the flywheel to adjust it. Haven't seen it done, so i cant tell you how difficult it is, but my buddy's bike has it. 6 degrees advanced, and it really pulls off the bottom alot faster. Gives alot more response to the throttle, deffinately recommend it.

Check the Tech Articles above. They have a step by step how too.

It works well on the four strokes and two strokes. It is very easy to install. It will create more heat so I do recommend using air scoops.

Do they make one for the 300ex's? If so where can I get one?

YUP i got one and in my oppinion ya can't go wrong for only 15 bucks makes your throttle response crisper and more responsive it's only recomended for stock compression though i'm running mine with 11:1 but i have to run 3 gal race to 2 gal pump to keep from buring a hole thru the top of my piston cause of the extra generated heat it creates

I have mine ordered and i read the tech article on it. Now i have a question. It says that when you put the flywheel back on to turn it to the left. If you have it in the key how can you turn just the flywheel. Also how can you hold the flywheel when you torque the bolt back down?

Thanks
Brian

i can't really remember, but i am thinking the flywheel really doesn't turn too far to the left. i think when you tighten the bolt, the flywheel won't move. this is where an impact wrench comes in handy. i am sure others will be able to help out more than me.
