I'm posting for a freind his 400ex pulls hard to the side when airing out the front tires, and yes the air pressure is the same in both tires, No noise or anything, any ideas

chain could be too tight

frame could be tweaked a bit..? have the tires worn evenly if one tire has more tread on it then the other then that could also be a reason

try switching the tires/wheels to the otherside...by nature(we turn left more and we're harder on the right rear and it wears the tread down making the tire's tread smaller, good idea to swap em aroung every month if you ride alot, putting more air in it just makes the tire harder......thats assuming everythings straight...

pretty much what he ^^^ said lol (I never read the whole tread of anything anymore:rolleyes: haha)

Or the axle could be slightly tweaked.

make sure the pressure in the tires are the same...when one of my tires are lower than the other it will go to that side. :ermm:

Check the axle bearings

Mine were shot last weekend & it pulled real hard to one side

If you can read he already said the tire pressure was the same:ermm: .

With a solid rear axle, the ONLY way you can pull to one side with the front tires off the ground is if one tire is larger than the other. This can be caused by uneven pressure (because one tire flattens out more, so essentially it is "smaller") uneven wear, leaning to one side, or actual physically different tire sizes, even if they are labeled as the same size.

If your axle bearings are shot it will pull think about this :
When you gas the quad the axle will torque out of square to the rest of the quad , when the front end comes up it will follow that path of un squareness

This is what I was going to say. If your bearings are going bad, it will allow the axle move enough to affect the travel path and not make any noticable noise.
