cooling fan

I'm tring to hook up a electric fan off a car radiator to my go kart.
I'm trying to wire it up through the wires coming out of the motor.
The motor is a 1981 polaris 340 twin. what wire do i need to use so
the fan will work? Will the motor produce enough electrical power to
run the fan? or will i need to get a battery?

also is there any way i could hook up a temperature gauge to the
motor?

well, since you don't have a battery im not for sure.

get ya a test light find you a wire thats hot only when the key is on, and splice a wire from that and see if it works. if it don't it was only 2 minutes out of your time.

and if you do end up hooking a battery up to it, just be sure to wire it to a toggle switch or something so you can turn it off, and charge it everytime you get done riding.
