theres no way its goes 79 ,if it cant beat a raptor it has to go at least 90

Hey! :eek2: you know what....I was there....... hey!...ya know what?....That was me on the YFZ, But I only reached 76.4 and 76.9 the other direction. Dont blame Hiller.....it was the heat:cool: besides the 9 was in there somewhere. lol
(At the time I had no air box, the baffle pulled and it jetted.)
Stock is anywhere between 64 to 67 depending on how its broken in.

Oh and thats right.....We were on a EXriders ride so there are about 8 others that checked the fun out too:devil:
Against a 2003 Raptor two weekends ago in NH (piped and jetted, no airbox) ....Its average 6 bikes back by 500' (Why 500' cuse we had the room):D

Sup Hiller! Was it 90 degrees? Dayumm no wonder I paid 5 bucks for some kid to run home and bring me back some tap water.:p
Id like to rip Franklin up again, (Wes...Time to rally the troops for a Fall Ride) just not through the 3 miles or so of impossible to rhythm whoops:confused2

Opps Now the rest of the story..or should I say to the subject.... Was the Top speed quoted? No

Is anyone on this site going to give you accute information regarding handling or top speed proformance for at least the end of the year.....ahh highly doubtful
Is it going to be _a_ top contender a resounding YES

One note to take to the bank is anyone that is a paid spokesperson for a company is going to suger coat whatever they are talking about so much that your teeth are hurting.
Oh and if Ron Jeremy were being paid (enough lol) He would say "Rosanne Barr was the best ride I've ever been on in my career." Take everything with a grain of salt till you witness it first hand!
Damn, off the subject again:rolleyes:

NO ONE KNOWS! wtf are somepeople thinking asking questions about this bike when know one has ridin it. look at the pictures and specs and you got all the info anyones got! it will do somware from 60-80. and whatever it does. who cares anyway. top speed dont mean crap. I can get a mojave to go faster then a raptor with gearing. so you wanna trade me a mojave for a raptor?? anyone??

The raptor's top speed is 75 and my friends raptor will beat the yfz only on top end. I would guess the 450r will be in the 70's. But who the @$#* knows.

2002 raptors do 71-72 per radar gun
banshees do 71
99 yz250 does 77
201 yz426f does 87

400ex do 64-67
yfz's are prob around 70.

the 450f will be similar to the yfz

close ratio trans for racing;)

it want be the fastest on the market, Because look at our 4x4 none of them go fast that the other brands than honda. But we all know the honda trx450r will be the best handling bike around and it will last like the trx250r. But i will tell ya how fast my TRX450r is when i get it in DEC!!!:D

top speed dont matter.....just matters how fast you get there. dont get me wrong if u wanna be competitive on the moto X track u need a bike that is capable of hitting 70mph... but still i doubt you will ever find a strait on a moto track that u can wind out your last gear:D just my .02

dyno'd ,mine with HRC and 13t front sprocket in at 97 degrees. it hit 69.9mph. so with the 14t im guessing around 73mph. i can barely and i mean barely walk away from a yfz with the cam mod, filter and jetting. so i dont know where these people are gettin in access speeds of 80 or more.this was a drum dyno so i dont know if it makes a differents between other types of dyno's.
80-90 i tested it a new town drag around my way....i'm all stoc to.
wow.:eek2: id have to see the time slip on that one. cause i know one tooth wont make 10-20 mph difference. if you are saying yours went 80-90 mph.

Sorry it was 76.9. It was the heat. With the right gearing and space you can go as fast as you want. 95% of the time you not be topped out in racing/riding so I agree it's how fast you get there.

Id like to rip Franklin up again, (Wes...Time to rally the troops for a Fall Ride)

We should. I'll try to get in contact with Wes and open a thread.
I got some comp.(look in sig) for you now, it should be interesting.

I say at least 80. I can ride a 75mph wheelie on my for miles. I have 3 buddies that do the same. We've clocked them with street bikes, cars, and trucks.

I went to the dealership for a 450r and they said with a powerup kit it would go 102mph and my 400ex with a 14 tooth sproket goes 65, 70 something with the 15 back on there i know cause i got in trouble by the cops going 72 plus being on the road that was with the 15 tooth

there is no way the 450R will do 102 mph unless...no, never. how can somebody beleive that i just dont know. my stock 450R with no baffle does 74-77 mph. (clocked by my neighbor, hes a trooper)(and hes cool as chit)

For everybody that says the 450r will do 100mph... pretty sure it wouldn't do that if you dropped the friggin thing from an airplane:rolleyes: Mine did 74.5mph on the dyno with stock gearing and 20" american racer flattrack tires on it, in 5th gear, before it hit the rev limiter. Why does everybody care about this anyway:o it would do that with nobody on it with a zip tie around the throttle... just ride the damn thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am gonna say that a person with a vortex rev box, a 15 tooth front, a 33 tooth rear and 20 in tires and mild motor work will do 100 mph. it may take forever to get up to speed but the numbers I threw around looked like it would work.

A stock 450R will do 100 mph no problem, IF it is in the back of a fast enough truck!!!! Id say about 70-72 mph would be about it all kidding aside, If you believe it will go over 80 mph you are out of your mind.

Mine did 79.9 on stock gears, rev limiter, and tires at 5000 feet elevation (the engine was not stock) on the Salt Flats.

I since have geared up and have more R's and I was well into the 90's. I have gears and tires that should get me to 105ish, just have not been back out there yet.
Have you ever seen how skinny your fronts get at 95mph? Its freaky.
Wind resistance plays a big part.
I used a GPS and Radar Gun to verify.

LOL KAM! You crack me up! I've been watching your posts over at atvfanatics and your involvement with dragging overall. If there is anyone that, when asked, i would expect to go to the flats with their quad, i would think that you would be the first! :D

another thing: look how close your top speed mph was to Gabe's calculator- hmmm. looks like in this case the "look on paper" and the "look through a radar gun on the flats" were almost the same.
;)

kgbg
06-02-2005, 02:44 PM
Yeah Chad I like speed!
The numbers are VERY close to Gabe's calculator. I think that since I have more horsepower than stock, I am able to overcome the wind resistance. I think a bone stocker with full fenders, would come up short due to resistance.
A goal of mine is to have a 100mph run on stock tires.

duke416ex
06-02-2005, 02:57 PM
You will never overcome wind resistance. You can do things to lessen it, but there will always be resistance. The faster you go, the more resistance you are gonna have and the more power you will need to make that 100mph run.

kgbg
06-02-2005, 04:39 PM
I mis stated myself by saying I can overcome the wind resistance.
What I should have said was I can overcome the wind resistance that would hold back an engine with less horsepower.
If you have 10000 hp or 50 hp you can only go as fast as the gears will let you. Same thing both ways, my bike has power to go faster than 100 its just my gearing holding me back, more so than the wind. I have done 97 already, it will go over 100 I just needed more gear.

06-03-2005, 12:28 PM

08-01-2005, 10:35 AM
no the problem with the caculator is that you cant figure any thing by just engine size, what if i put some duct tape on the end of the exhaust and cover the airfilter with my hand on one bike, then on another bike with the same displacement i put some pipes, cam, port work etc etc, the 2nd 1 will be faster

If you search some one dynoed both 450's and the honda went liek 72-73 with the yama doing 71. also I know my 250r does 76 from being clocked and I can pull away fron my freinds 450's down the road maxed out but my other freinds raptor will slowly pass my bike about a mile down the road. Search for the dyno sheet it had the redlines, hp, and top speed. So far i've not seen a stocked geared bike break 80. Also these were last years models not 06's.
