ok..what does it really mean when you get ur motor port an polished..ive heard differnt things an i was wonderin if it was worth the money an what kinda hp gains it gave you

Basically it's altering the factory ports through grinding or building up material to change flow, timing (2 stroke), or both. People often polish the exhaust port for as little restriction as possible. Polishing the intake port isn't a good idea as it won't help the fuel and air mixture stay atomized.
It can make a big difference in how a bike runs. A good port job can unlock a lot of power, a bad port job can make a motor junk.
There are different goals, some aim for low-midrange power like cross country and MX racers, while some aim for maximum top end power like duners and drag racers. HP gains aren't something you can compare as it's one of many many factors.
