i am putting a wb race cam in my 250x. They make 2 cams. all around, and race. In the instructions it says to check clearances such as piston to valve and so forth, and to grind material away to ge the proper clearances. Is this a big concern with this cam. I didnt think that this cam was that radical that i would have to get into that much work. By the way, its the same profile cam as web cams sells... gind # 254 . Has anyone installed this cam in their 300ex or 250x and did u have to grind anything away? Oh ya im using a standard bore wiseco piston. Thankd for any help.

You probably don't need to grind anything it is just a warning so you can sue them if anything goes wrong.

I have a cam in my 400 and did not check and it runs.

That cam is fine. Did you buy hard rockers or stronger springs?

If you didn't you might want to consider doing it before you put it all together

yeah if you run nething other than a stock cam your rockers wear out in like i think its 14 hours or less

so make sure you replace then with hardface rockers

Look into Hot Cams with hot cams you will not need hard faced rockers. There cam is made out of the same material as the stock cam. Web cams but a weld over the lobe and then grind it to the specs they use and the weld the use is much harder then the rocker so that is why the require hardfaced rockers.
