The Houser Long travel arms along with Elka long travel shocks is the best set up out there. Yeah sure you could buy Laegers Pro trax front with Custom Axis shocks but why spend well over $2000 when you can get the Houser and Elka for like $1450. I have the Houser and the Elka on my 400, my buddy hast the Protrax and Axis on his 400. Travel is the same, handling is the same, (pretty much). Mine cost $ 700 less. YOu make the call.:)
If your serious about racing email me. FullThrottleMX@Hotmail.com I'll help ya out.

I agree with the new guy,,the houser long arms are gonna work just as good as any other long arm system available,,,and cost less...glad to see another houser racing product user show support for a product that doesn't come with vaseline like most other companies,,:huh

Cryped1,,were you at in KY???? I'm in Louisville.

01-30-2002, 11:31 AM
Depending on the suspension you get it will sit lower than stock,,here's a pic of mine with houser's arms but there not the long travel arms..

Marcums atv can get you a good price for them.

Well who knows maybe the axis are just a tad bit better but cost you way more for the same thing almost. Afterall the pro's usuelly have the best but I don't think any of us could really abuse them like dana, travis, or digger doug can.

I have seen a couple quads with the Houser Long travels and ELKA setup they look sweet! Try C&D Racing (308) 368-7805 they have really good prices and treat me well.

Their is going to be quite a few pros running ELKA shocks this year.

Custom Axis uses one valving system to control compression and rebound so if you adjust the compression the rebound changes as well. also the same way if you change the rebound. Elka does uses two separate valving systems one for compression and the other for rebound. So if you adjust one the other doesn't change also. Elka buys and tests all the top shocks such as Custom Axis, PEP, TCS, Works. Their is no question in my mind which is the better shock. ELKA all the way!

If you live in Webster, do you race at Echovalley? I race there alot and some in Nebo and this year London. I don't race the indoor series in the winter. Two reasons, 1. track too small, 2. quad usually apart getting ready for the upcomming season. Yeha we'll get together and do some MXing. If you have a schedual to Echovalley, mail it to me please.

Clay
01-31-2002, 05:48 PM
Yeah i race at Echo Valley some! Its a nice track, but its not maintained well for quads. Anyway, i must have seen you up there. What is your name? Mine is Clay Rhye. I didn't race alot there last season. I raced the first two and the last two races there. The rest i raced at Western Kentucky Supercross in Nebo, KY. Neither track has a schedule circulating yet. Anyway, what is your name, what does your quad look like, what kind? Im guessing EX or R.

I'm just starting up my business, so right now I have Houser and Elka. Working on getting LoneStar, AC, Graydon. Lots of activity going on now, trying to set up web page also. Still have to get my Quad together, and another Quad together for my buddy, plus working way toooo much overtime at work.
If you want something mail me and I'll see about getting it for you.

You should get Laeger, PEP, Axis, Roll Design, Sparks, and TC. Then you would have all the Top Brands. I wanted to know about PEP Shocks. I think I`m saving for them next. Could you get those?

kabd69667
02-01-2002, 09:22 PM
Sure, every shop wants those brands but your not going to have all those in stock. When a big company like pep sells their products to a shop, they don't want the shop selling one of their competeters. Or if you sold laeger, they wouldn't want you selling lonestar at the same time. I think its stupid but if you just have a small shop, your not going to have all those parts in stock. I'm sure you coudl order them for a customer though

Yes all those brands kick *****. but I cannont carry all of them because I don't have that much overhead. I can however order from them, but I can't keep them in stock. If you want something mail me at FullThrottleMX@Hotmail.com Thanx guys!!:)

I am hooked on Roll Design. I hope I can get some some day.

The Roll Design and Axis shock combo is ONE OF THE BEST! Walsh and Roll Design are the best Chassis builders around.

Doug Gust runs Walsh and he said those Walsh and Roll Design handle 10times better than anyone. The Pro-Trax he said is probably 3rd best.

It may cost $2600 for Axis Shocks and Custom Roll Design A-arms,but you get the best handling around!
