Here are the answers to your questions for GNCC pro #3 William Yokley

EXR: The son wants to know, what is his favorite part about racing?

WY: Getting to be with all the friends I have made over the years and meeting new people.

EXR: In what ways will the new "Tire Thingy" affect GNCC and will it ever be marketable like you could buy "it" from RM atv or the quad shop ect..

WY: It will be a huge advantage over the people that don't run them! First, you will not loose time riding with the flat and stoping to change it in the pits. Second, you will make up alot of time in the rocky sections because you won't have to slow down. Third, mentally you will be going faster knowing that you won't have getting a flat in the back of your mind. Fourth, they hook up much better on accelration and through the turns.
Yes, they will be available through selected dealers.

EXR: Will GNCC racing ever catch on out on the left coast? And if not Why?

WY: The WORCS has already done a good job of bringing XC style racing to the west coast. I don't believe it will be as big as GNCC for the simple fact of numbers. There are more quads on the east coast.

EXR: Twist or Thumb throttle?

WY: Thumb

EXR: How did he get his start?

WY: My older brother John was a top GNCC racer in the 80's. I would go to the races with John and my parents and I always new that it was what I wanted todo!

EXR: Can he outdrink RICO?

WY: From what I understand.......NO WAY!!!

EXR: Ask him why he decided to race GNCC's instead of GNC's, Dessert racing ect.

WY: I grew up riding/racing in the woods. I always thought it was more of a challange than MX and I like being on the quad longer than MX allows. I actually have been racing desert for the last few years and enjoy it alot.

EXR: Ask him how long he has been riding for.

WY: 17 years

EXR: How did he get to where he stands today?

WY: ALOT of hard work! If it weren't for my family, sponcers and fans I would have had to quit a long time ago.

EXR: As a pro racer, what kind of an income do u get i any? Do u need a other full-time or part time job to pay for the expenses? What do u think lies in the future of atv racing and what are people doing to achive it...

WY: Racing barley pays for itself and not nearly enough to live on. Things are looking up for the future of ATV racing tho!!! Hard to say what lies in the future but the receint factory involvement is very exciting.

EXR: What was his first quad?

WY: Honda 70

EXR: What are your hobbies outside of racing?

WY: Golf, boating, hanging with friends and trail riding.

EXR: Do you know anything about Kawasaki releasing a 2-stroke ATV sometime in the future?

WY: No idea.

EXR: Where is your favorite place to ride for fun?

WY: Baja Mexico

EXR: Ask him who beat him for the 1990 GNCC youth championship.....and whatever happened to the kid he was really fast......I heard he never really materialized as a pro.

WY: That would have been Johnny C, he became very soft!

:macho Way to go!

Follow up question.... What will it take to get the GNCC to the left coast? Other than increased population which most of us do not want:)

And when will this "thingy" be release?:p

Joe Its very doubtful you will see a GNCC race on the west coast. It would be way to expensive for all but a select few to travel out there for a race. Kinda like people traveling from the west coast to the east coast to race the current GNCC's. It has been done but only by 2 or 3 people and they didn't do it for very long.

William and I are still trying to find flaws with the "thingy" but we have yet to find any. Once we are convinced they won't fail, the manufacture will release them for sale. Its looking like sometime this fall.

Joe,
From what I've seen of the Left Coast It would take an EXTREMELY SUCESSFUL tree planting program. Then again I haven't seen much of the left coast either.

Sounds to me like he's got a stick with a rope attached in the middle and a brick at the end and he twists the stick making the rope twirl around the stick. Sounds like a sissy exercise for limp wrists to me:eek:
