View Full Version : Opinion on Maxxis MX tires

I recently purchased Maxxis Razr MX tires front and back for my EX to finish of my racing season, ive been used to holeshots, my question is what tire pressure does anyone reccomend for the fronts and backs for racing. I used to have the mx ones on my blaster in the rear and ran 4 psi but on the EX I was just wondering. If any of you run this tires for racing I would appreciate an opinion of what tire pressures to run for mx.

i believe 7-9 psi would be good, try out different pressures, its preference and track conditions

i use 10. i think you should have gone with something else in my opion. i ride hard pack and they dont hook up very well but ya know what ever.

I love mine. I run 5 psi in front and 4 psi in back. I ride a mixture of hardpack and loose dirt (dust as of the past month or two :o) and they perform great in either. They slide well and get awesome straight line traction. I like them better than my old Turfs because they wear much better and still get good traction.

i run 10 in the front and i think 7 or 8 in the back. i ride in soft dirt and sand most of the time and they hook up soo good. they are deffineatly one of my favorite tires

Are you guys talking about running the razr 18's on the rears? I am thinking of running these instead of tamers for similar reasons that you all mentioned.

ya i run the 18"s and the 19 fronts. they are def the best tires i have run...but i have never run grooved tamers so im not sure if they are better than them. but they last a really long time

I should be gettin my razrs tomorrow. If only it rained so i could ride. Wisconsin is in serious drought conditions and alot of trails are closed. We need rain bad...

well i got my tires and they are on. I love the looks of it.. and guess what now its raining so i cant try them out. but we need the rain so i cant complain. ill post a pic when the rain stops
