bogging down

I have a 2001 400ex,I went racing a couple nights ago and in the both motos my quad started bogging like it was starving for gas.then it cleared up.any ideas what could cause this.Thankyou

Sounds like your bike is gettin enough fuel maybe tooo much. Used to happen to me all the time. I figured that it was from jumping and cornering that the bowl was getting just a little to full and when the motor would bog down you would stop your movement for just enough time for it to burn the gas up and kepp on goin. Take the bottom of your bowl off and check your overflow tube on your carb and see that there not blocked with debris and keeping the bowls from floating to the top. When you have your bowl off take and blow some air thru the metal tube that and take the balck hose off when you do this. Maybe this will help or amybe it wont.
