Nac's, I was looking at the Dell Dimension 4600 with 2.4ghz P4 with 800mhz front side bus, 512mb RAM, 40gb hard drive (I've only got a 20gb drive now and only fill 4.5gb), CD-RW and all the other bells and whistles. I've already got a flat screen now so I'm not even going to buy one. I built that 4600 on Dell's website for $1300.

I was hooked on Red Alert 2 and then Yuri's Revenge. Well now Generals is out but my old ***** computer can't even play the game:( The system requirements far exceed my 700mhz PIII, 16mb video card...

Dude, I might be gettin' a Dell:D

You wont be dissapointed with that setup...of course, you could always get the 4600C and have the luxury of a flatscreen monitor and a compact tower

when you order a computer and you want it to be a good gaming machine, you have to make sure you get a good video card! If you have a fast system with a crappy video card, it will still be crap. Make sure your getting a newer Geforce, or ATI card!

Damn, I must have put together one heck of a deal then...

I just bought a new PC from Dell.... throught the small business area. Dimension 4600 P4 2.4ghz, 512 MB RAM, 40 gig HD, DVD Drive, CDRW, 64MB GeForce4 Video (I'm not into many computer games), wireless keyboard & wireless optical mouse, upgraded sound (SB) and a 17" flat panel monitor for under $1200. :D

I got all that same stuff except I got a 128mb GeForce4 and I chose the Dell enhanced keyboard and mouse (hard wired). I even opted out of a monitor because I've already a flat panel. Damn it, how'd you do that? Was there any type of rebate?

I found the deal through www.gotapex.com That site finds the best deals out there...

There were no rebates, they had sale, somethin like $300 of the 4600 (for small biz section only) and $100 off the 17" flat panel monitor & free shipping.

I spec'd out the same PC as a home user and was shocked to see the price difference. I would have paid around $1600-$1700.

Keep your eye on that site for specials, especially with Dell.
