I RECENTLY PUT A DMC ALIEN EXHAUST A K&N FILTER THERE ARE 3 1" HOLES IN THE TOP OF THE AIR BOX AND I HAVE A DYNOJET KIT WITH THE 155 MAIN JET AND THE E-CLIP ON THE 3RD POSITION ON THE NEEDLE.....I TURNED THE FUEL SCREW ALL THE WAY IN AND BACK OUT 3.5 TURNS AS THE INSTREUCTIONS SAID AND NOW I CANT GET THE DANG THING TO START....WELL IT WILL CRANK WITH THE CHOKE ON BUT WHEN I TAKE THE CHOKE OFF IT IMEDIATELY DIES.......AFTER TRYING TO CRANK IT FOR A FEW MIN. I TAKE THE SPARK PLUG OUT AND IT IS JET BLACK AND WET......WHAT DO I NEED TO DO???? DO I NEED TO TURN THE FUEL SCREW IN A LITTLE??????

Turn the fuel screw in one full turn (2 1/2), turn the choke OFF, and crank with the throttle held wide open until it starts.

hrmm something doesnt sound right. Did you do the jetting and exhaust all at the same time?

Using the choke on a 400ex is beggin for problems.. I think there called plug foulers not chokes....:ermm:

most seem to disagree with me here, but the choke is how i can get my bike started. i think the key is not to keep hitting the throttle as your trying to start it because of the accelerator pump in the carb usually how i get it started is pump the throttle 2 or 3 times and then just hit the start button with the throttle fully closed. this is just for the winter, in the summer i don't need the choke.

Your bike sounds flooded. Holding the throttle wide open while cranking will clear it out, just don't "pump" the throttle.

make sure u push DOWN to take the choke off and u push UP to put the choke on. I had that problem....

i would up your pilot jet and down ur main jet Im running a Klein 155 with a slip on and no air box lid. I i believe the Dynos are bigger than kleins...?

wiht my choke all i do is turn it on until it cranks over then trur it right off, but it could be a jetting probel try what F-16 Guy said, get a new plug, and check for spark.
