You dont need to do anything. Just remove the flywheel. .. ok I guess you will need something... a flywheel puller, probably can rent that someplace. Then take it to a good place to get the work done. The price should be around $75 last I checked.

What are the advantages of shaving weight off a flywheel?

The powerband will be more violent. It will hit harder and later, and lose some low end. I never knew you could lighten the flywheel. I thought that might affect the timing and electrical output of the machine..

A ATV shop owner and drag racer told me you will not notice a big difference unless you are around 135 pounds or less... It might be something to look into to see if it is true though:ermm:

lightening the flywheel will help you engine rev faster and your quad accelerate faster. You will not lose any low end power. It doesn't change your powerband. Some places shave as much as a pound from a 400 flywheel. I do know that Ken Cornwell at Rocky Ridge Racing does it.

I am thinking of getting a sparks advance timing key. with the mods i have done and am planning on doing, is this a wise move to advance the timing. I'm just looking to build a real powerful engine. Also if you have any suggestions, please add.

Sorry, I would have made a new thread. But it didn't let me..

i know they don't recommend running the key with high compression motors, but many people do. the key will probally give a more crisp throttle response and a small increase in power.
