Fair to Midland is pretty bad@ss, and Element 80 seems to be getting pretty big since they were workin w/ Pantera (who is also from Texas). Drowning Pool was also from Texas.
I'm not particularly a huge fan of Element 80 cause they kinda suck live, although last time I saw them live they actually were soundin pretty good.
Fair to Midlands website is www.ftmband.com if any of you want to check em out. If you e-mail them, they will actually reply themselves instead of having some pre-typed e-mail sent back that might get back to you in 2 months. I e-mailed them to tell them that I thought they ROCKED and that I was gonna try to see them live but I travel a lot on the weekends due to my races, and he replied the next day saying thanks and to say good luck in my races. That's pretty cool if you ask me. Their sound is a little different, but I personally really like it.
Also, IMPO, I think punk rock is a disgrace to rock music. It seems like people will call anything rock music now. Good Charlotte, Blink 182, and all those other guys shouldn't even be considered to be close to being in the same genre of music as bands like Tool, Acid Bath, Mudvayne, 36 Crazy fists, Seether, SOAD, Deftones, Taproot, ect.
