question for any 250x owners....

Hi- I just recently bought a 250x that was a little beat up, and the bright person that owned it before me had removed the decompression cable. How bad is this for the quad? Or does it just make starting harder and not really necessary?
The real question I had was where does it go???? I know where it connects to on the engine, but I just dont know where the other end goes.

no does not harm the engine.. i have mine off right now... just makes the engine a little harder to kick over not a big deal for me...... anyways at the top of the head you will see a lever that a cable can connect to.......... then you go down to the right sidecase and on the very left of it you should see another lever that the cable connects to just connect the cable in those 2 places and you will have your decompressor back.. hope that helps
