Ok I have a 2000 400 EX and I put brakes on it about 2 months ago and those pieces of @#$% are already gone. What breaks are the best for trail riding? I can't afford to spend ten million dollars on brakes every two months. You help will be much appriciated... On that note Have any of you ever heard of making custom brake pads out of solid brass. Supposedly brass does not gall to steel it will just wear off like regular brakes but not as fast.... Thats just what I was told.... but i dont know weather to believe it or not

i don't really want my brakes to take a crap when im runnin wot down the raod and probably neiter do u so just nut it up and by another set of pads try DP or braking. Dp gives me good deals but they sponser me but they aren't that expensive.

buy stock pads from service honda. Didn't your original stock pads last longer than any other? Also make sure your calipers are sliding on the pins "floating" as they should be. If they are sticking one pad will wear out early while the other has some life left.

make sure to clean out the caliper and take the piston out after u drian the break fluid, and take terry cloth and sand all the old dirt off and put brake fluid on it, and put it back in along with the pads, bleed them, and dont keep ur foot on the pedal, that or adjust ur pb.

i say for pads go with Braking, DP, Galfer, or OEM. to help u a little better on stopping i would go Galfer/Braking Wave/Standard. they make the best rotors hands down IMO

I use EBC severe duty pads. They last a while. :)

Yea, for sure. If you guys are wearing your brakes out that fast, you need to fix something.

when you start to run through dirt and mud alot and ride hard the brakes will go out quicker.

Heh, you might be right about the dirt and mud, but I guarantee you arent as hard on the brakes as some people...Something needs to be fixed if they wear out like that.
