IMO its decently hard. Its suppose to be easy but.....

If you use some tricks it should be easier. Theres a thread in the FAQ forum. Something about putting the carrier in the oven... bake until a golden brown, and serve with chilled bearings.:huh :blah:

It's harder to get them out than put them in, imo. After you get them out and clean everything up real good, put the bearings in the freezer and the carrier in the oven. Don't get the carrier too hot (I just got mine hot enough that I couldn't hold it with my bare hands), you don't want to take out the temper. With the carrier hot, quickly slide the cold bearings in, tapping lightly around the OUTER RACE if necessary, until seated. The temperature difference between the two increases the clearance, allowing the bearings to slide right in. Remember to install the spacer in the carrier before you put the last bearing in.

the only thing is it might be a b!$ch to knock the old collars out

i heated mine up with a torch and the bearings fell right out and slid back in easily
