View Full Version : Drill holes in a rim?

I have what may seem like an odd question. I have a second quad, a Suzuki 230 quadsport, that is in need of a new set of rims all the way around. I have an extra set of rims that I have been using as spares for my 400ex. I want to try and use the spare rims to put on the quadsport, but the hole pattern is different (4 x 130 quadsport versus 4 x 110 400ex). I'm wondering if I drill new holes to match the quadsport's pattern, would that work or cause any problems? I've seen some aftermarket rims that have many holes to support multiple patterns, but I wanted some advice as to whether this idea would be OK.

The spare rims are Douglas .190 and the quadsport will just be used for trail riding, not super aggressive or any type of racing. Thanks in advance for your responses.

Getting the "new" pattern centered before you drill the holes sounds like a challenge.
