What is the best way to clean the dirt off my engine? The dirt is like a reddish clay color, but one thing is if I use engine cleaner will it effect any engine components or electrical? Which product would you recommend for this? Thanks for your help.

they have that at my car wash. it works alright but the orange stuff really makes the chrome shine. it took the yello out of everything from the burnt on mud.

eagle one etching spray does a good job of cleaning the engine, just try to keep it off your aluminum parts if you like to keep them shiny

watch that stuff on your new powdercoat. some of these chemicals will spot the finish.

i use simple green only and a meduim stiffness brush...comes clean everytime.

and for tuff stuff...spray some PB blaster on a rag and wipe down the center cases...and also the exhaust pipe.

can you spray simple green on anything? does it make the plastics get white spots, dull the chrome or make aluminum dull? Does it damage anything? Thanks

i havent had one problem with simple green.....on any surface.

biggest thing to watch out for is hard water or heavy minerals in your areas water.....it will actually eat into paint..powdercoat..chrome etc. only way to really combat it is to wipe all the water off immediatley before it dries.

i wish we could get a sponsorship from simple green....it truly is some cool stuff.

I use Rubbermaid's professional pluss concentrated Orange cleaner and degreaser. I use this stuff to clean just about everything. Use it at full strength to clean the engine or to remove oil spots on the shop floor. Just dilute it down when I use it to wash the whole qaud.
