i probably already know the answer to this but i am bored waiting for my ride to school and i am fearing i'm going to have to tear into my quad soon anyways. so here goes.

do you guys think the 350X 6 speed trans would work in the 400 motor? i know the motors are similar but different. if it worked i think that might be a pretty hot set up.isn't the XR400 a 6 speed?

i think the xr is a 5 speed.

i know they are in the same family of motors, so it might be possible, but i think we would have heard of italready if it was.

The transmission and crank are really all one big assembly. I don't think you can really "separate" the transmission from the rest of the motor.

so do you think a 350x crank will work? lol. maybe i should just get a 350x motor and bore and stoke it to 440.

maybe the 400ex jug on a 350 bottom end?

the 350 motor has more balls than the 400ex motor to start with, why not just work your ex motor out

well i think my gears are going too cuz sometimes it will slip out of gear when i'm riding or it won't shift so i am thinkin i'll have to replace em anyways.

That is actually a possibility. I know that Powroll makes 430cc bore and stroke combo for the 350X motor.

i dont' want to burst any bubbles but the 400ex motor is a dry sump system while the 350x is not. I'm sure it makes a different but not exactly sure. just throwing a thought out there.
