black pipes

I have rode my 400ex about 5 hours.this bike is bone stock. my question is should the pipes be almost black? they have gone past purple and are allmost black and I still have not got to ride it hard. would they jet it that lean from the factory?:confused:

stock pipes change colors fast..remember mine on my 300ex changed colors the first day i had it

You are just basically heat-treating the metal, it will eventually find its color and should stay that way. And yes, they are jetted a bit lean from the factory.
