I would go with a 416 with a mild cam for reliability. If you want it super reliable get hardened rockers, heavy duty cam chain, stiffer valve springs, etc. A 416 wont run as hot as a 426 because the sleeve isnt as thin as the 426. Also with a 416 you will have more bores left then a 440 because i believe you will have to resleeve the 440.
