I am looking to replace my heavy POS helmet with something better. What is everyone else wearing? Any suggestions?

if u have the money... don't go cheap... u'd be amazed how comfortable a expensive helmet really is... they are so light and they have way better coolin... ur neck doesnt' feel like it has 100lbs on it...

go put on a fox pilot helmet... u can usually get them for 269$ or so... well worth the money...

i would say a fox or a hjc. i love my hjc clx2, and that is a few years old, the clx4 fuel's are really nice i might look into them, the fox pilot's are really nice too.

Hey Tony,

You've seen/felt the weight of my Suomy. VERY light. And the graphics are some of the best out there.

Search ebay for Suomy or Suomy helmet. I got mine brand new for $130 to my door.

I checked out M2R also...Very nice and light, but I couldn't pass up a new $300 helmet for $130. I noticed the M2R sizes ran big. A medium fit me pretty well, and I'm a big dude...so is Tony...

Do check out M2R also Tony.

Good call CDaleChick..;)

I spent the the last couple of days trying on helmets and decided on a HJC AC-X2 static for $200. It is a fiberglass/ kevlar composite and is pretty light (3.2 lbs) I liked the Oneal 714-814 but the HJC fit me better. I tried the Suomy and actually found one for $175 but I like the fit better on the HJC. Nice graphics too. The CLX-4 is what most of my friends have but it is a little heavy and is polycarbinate which is not quite as good, or so I'm told.

i just got an HJC CLX4 to replace my old Fulmer. i love it. it retails for 160 but i bought it for 90. dont go cheap, go for comfort and a good fit. Arai helmets are my personal favorite, little more money but deff worth it.

my opinion , don't buy a used one, because after one hard crash they are left weak:)

I had the lightest helmet line by HJC for a while, it was really nice - I had no problems with it at all, other than I crashed about 4 times with it....then I got my Shoei Trixtar for Valentines Day and it has been awesome!!! Very lightweight, and very comfy. Helmet weight makes a huge difference.......just holding different helmets and feeling the weight difference can tell you a lot - your neck already has alot of weight to hold up - paying a little more for a lighter weight helmet is definately worth the difference!! As long as your helmet meets/exceeds DOT/SNELL standards, and it fits your head well and you like it, I don't think you can go wrong with any brand!!! :)

I would greatly reccomend the thor SVS 5 helmet. I got mine for $132 shipped to my door through rocky mountain. Easily the best helmet for the money.
