well, if you go with a 13, you would deffinetly have more low end than a 14, but you will lose top end.......such as maximum speed and that

it depends on how steep your hills are but a 13 will handle hills better too. If you do have a 14 tooth front sprocket, it will be a little bit different, but you can always shift down into a lower gear if you need too

a 13 will be easier to wheelie over obsticals too, and you will have more oppertunity to get the holeshot if you would race...but a 14 will give you better top speed and some less low end than the 13. Also, your fastest speeds will be with the stock 15 tooth you have on your quad now

i don't own a 400ex so i don't know what one is like with a 13 on it, but remember, the lower you go, the more shifting you will need to do since your rpms will go up with the speed faster, and a 14 will make you need to shift less than the 13 but more than your stock 15

well, hope this helps, GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

With that 440 kit I wouldn't go with the 13,to much stress on the motor. You should have plenty of power to turn the 15,use the clutch to keep the rpms up and learn to ride it.I put a 14 on after I bought my 400 and in no time was back to the 15.The 14 does help but it does hurt also(less top end, more shifting).

I race motocross, and i run a 14...I think 14 would be the best if you are riding trails now, you will deff. lose top end, like myself, but it is easier for menuvering(?) over things...If you are racing, and there aren't any fast straights go with it, but if there are fast straights, with the 440 you should have pleanty of power to be using the 15 anyways...the 13 is way to low for that 440..

Alright thanks, I think i'll stick with the 15...I just wanted some mad wheelies through all 5 gears..but what all of you say does make sense, Thanks Again

Going to a 13 tooth would almost be like losing your 4th & 5th gears now. Trust me, good decision on keeping the 15. There is nothing worse than having a built motor on a short leash.
